Kerala is synonymous with breathtaking backwaters and blue lagoons, beautiful hill stations, sunny beaches and lively villages. It is famous for its spice plantations and incredible natural beauty. On our Kerala tour we will be taking boat trips down the backwaters and canals that criss-cross Munroe island, eating an excellent local plantain leaf meal and getting an ayurvedic massage. We will be visiting Periyar wildlife sanctuary to see elephants in their natural habitat. The cool misty hills and the tea plantations of Munnar will take your breath away! This is one of those BeAnimal tours that you’d never want to miss! This tour starts in Trivandrum and ends in Goa.

The coastline of Kerala is strewn with glazed beaches and glorious water bodies.

The state observes a tranquil climate which contributes to sprawling plantations and healthy paddy fields. The state enjoys a much diversified geography and topography. Kerala is bordered by the Arabian Sea in the west, Western Ghats scaling up to 2700 m in the east and channelled by 44 networks of rivers in other two zones.

Airport pick-up from Trivandrum. Move into your own bohemian beach hut and take some time to relax.

Today we will be exploring Varkala beach and it is time for our first yoga class!

Munroe Island

Our mission for the day is to get a traditional Kerala ayurvedic massage and steam bath. So just relax, let go and let the rejuvenation begin.

Munroe island

Enjoy a traditional banana leaf meal and try out the delicacies of Kerela. Will will be going on a boat cruise of the famous backwaters. Be ready to duck as we slide under low bridges!

Periyar National Park

This wildlife reserve is home to some of the most precious biodiversity of the region - The Indian elephant, tigers and the endangered lion-tail macaque.

Periyar National Park

We will be going on a boat cruise on Periyar lake and this is the best way to take a good look at the animals without disturbing this delicate ecosystem.

The Abraham Spice farm is enroute to Munnar and the man who runs the place will give us a tour of his fascinating garden. Almost every variety of spice you can imagine is grown here!

Today, we are off to Munnar which is famous for its rolling hills and fine tea. The air gets fresher as we climb higher and it is definitely one of the most stunning places to visit in Kerala.

Formerly known as Cochin, Kochi boasts of one of the finest natural harbours in India. It was a Dutch trading outpost for many years and you can still see many old colonial era builds here.

The cantilevered Chinese fisning nets are a sight to behold as we walk along the lively promenade that runs along the coast. Kochi is a fun city with lots of nice places to eat and shop at.

We will be watching a traditional Kathakali dance performance today. Elaborate stories are depicted in these dances through specefic facial gestures and movements. The costumes and makeup of the dancers is something you’ll never forget.

Kochi - Agonda

We will take an over night train from Kochi to Madgaon in Southern Goa. The sleeper trains in India are an experience every traveller must try! India has the most extensive railways network of any country in the world.

Welcome to Agonda! Roam around enough and you might just find yourself on a secret beach! we will be visiting our friends at The Tribe Goa who run a sustainable community in the middle of the jungle.

There’s nothing better than an early morning walk through the forests of Goa to energize the mind. On this day, we are marching to Butterfly beach early in the morning.

Practicing yoga on the beach never gets boring. It’s a special place for those who are lucky enough to visit. The food, the people and the intense calm of this place is something you’ll definitely be returning to India for!
